Ozeri Wok - find out just wok we thought!

A few weeks ago I was sent a 12-Inch Green Earth Wok by Ozeri, with Smooth Ceramic Non-Stick Coating (100% PTFE and PFOA Free) to use and review. Both myself and my husband LOVE cooking and 99% of our meals are prepared from scratch. It's therefore important to us that we have the equipment to hand which 'does the job'. We do spend quite a lot of money on 'bits for the kitchen' and so to be offered this item to review was met with excitement!

In our kitchen, we have an induction hob - which is brilliant. However, it does at times limit the pans you can purchase as they have to be suitable of course. We were thrilled that the Ozeri range works - and even more thrilled once we took delivery of the pan and started using it.

The first thing that struck me when the wok arrived was it's modern green colour which I love. It makes such a change to the usual 'grey' of our other pans. The green colour reflects it's USP where they claim it is one of the world's first frying woks which achieves 'non-stick perfection while remaining absolutely free of PTFE, PFOA and other harmful chemicals - they believe that even when used at high temperatures no harmful chemicals will be released'. Now - if I am honest - this is not something I have ever particularly considered in the past - but if they say this pan is greener then who am I to argue?

And now down to the use - the most important factor when buying a wok.....actually using it! At a RRP of £49.95 it's not a budget choice but at the same time, I don't think that the price is excessive. It is comparable to other pans on the market - and on the whole I have found that you get what you pay for with pans. It comes with a 'Limited Lifetime Warranty' which is applicable to the original owner. I think this is brilliant and shows that the company has real faith in their product. As you would expect, there are exceptions to the warranty if you don't take care of the pan - but these are not rocket science and general common sense.

And now down to the most important part of this review - the performance. We have been using the wok for a few weeks now on an almost daily basis - it has cooked various curries, bolognaise, stir fry, and casseroles. It's brilliant - it's amazing - it's the best wok we have ever owned. My husband described it as 'fantastically non-stick, nice and light, works incredibly well on induction hobs'. Given that he is a pretty critical person, this is praise indeed.

A kitchen must-have which I can not fault - my only niggle is that it doesn't come with a lid but I have another lid which fits perfectly so it's not a big problem. You can buy a lid separately for RRP £12.95 if you didn't have a compatible one already. Despite this tiny niggle, we were in fact so impressed that we are considering buying more of the range.
