Autumn Days - hunting for conkers

I'm not sure that this post really needs a lot of words to accompany it. Today we went hunting for conkers straight after school (thus the PE kits) and it reminded me of my childhood - we always used to go conker hunting in preparation for 'playing conkers' at school. Some 35 or so years later conker playing seems to be banned in so many schools thanks to the lovely 'health and safety' rules that everyone is so scared of.

I am very pleased that my children's school have a 'CONKER CHAMPIONSHIP' on Friday and that conker playing is actively (and safely) encouraged.

So here is our preparation for said conker championship - collecting the conkers! We had fun - the weather was beautiful and we did what little boys should be doing at this time of year - enjoyed the great outdoors!

  1. These could be pictures from an Enid Blyton book, good old fashioned fun, fabulous. Good luck in the championship boys x
