Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back....review!

My youngest is a relatively new fan to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so when I was asked to review their new series, I thought that it was a good opportunity to win Brownie Points with Harry and also find out what all the fuss was about!

Mutagen Mayhem (just don't ask my five year old to say this as he got a little tongue tied) is out this Spring on DVD so my boys were excited to be 'one of the first in the world' to see it. It was met with great excitement....followed by silence and concentration as they watched it.

My boys are 5 years old and 7 years old, and they decided to watch some of it over the weekend whilst they had a friend over to play - who is 8 years old. It kept them all glued to the TV and inspired some 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle' imaginitative play afterwards too!

Mutagen Mayhem collates the first 6 episodes of Season 2 (apparently!)......and is an action-packed series of adventures by these green, sewer-loving turtles who in true super hero form fight the bad for the greater good. It's a mixture of action and comedy with a little adult humour entwined for good measure.

The children knew that they were 'reviewing' the DVD so I asked them what they thought.....

My 5 year old was transfixed and described it as 'Amazing Mummy - I want to be a turtle when I grow up' (I think I may have to work on that aspiration a little).

My 7 year old was also a big fan and told me that he 'liked the music and the storylines were good. They had a beginning, middle and end just like all good stories should.' I guess he has been listening in his literacy lessons at school then!!!!

Our 8 year old friend said it was 'Just AWESOME'.

So there you go - recommendation indeed from three young men who to be honest are not 'TV addicts' - far from it...three fun-loving, outside boys who took a break from their usual adventurous activities to watch some of the episodes....which then enhanced their imaginative play outside. Win Win in my eyes!

Summary

Well, this DVD definitely got the thumbs up from my boys and I am sure that it will be watched again and again!
