The Aliens are coming - bedding review from Feather and Black

I was recently asked to review some bedding from Feather and Black and I have to admit that i has taken my over a month to get this review live. The reason behind this is that I have a thing about bedding - you have to wash and wash it before it becomes 'just snuggly perfect' in my eyes. And therefore, before I would review this bedding set I had to wash it a number of times!

I LOVE the design of this bedding - contemporary chic is how I would describe it. Aliens are a timeless favourite with little boys and my little boys it seems are no exception. In fact my seven year old and my five year old loved it. Harry has a space themed bedding so on his occasion, he was lucky enough to 'win' and is now the proud owner of the Feather and Black Alien bedding set. Harry has bunk beds in his room and already has 'astronaut' bedding on the bottom bunk so to now have aliens up at the top 'in space' is just perfect.

The alien pattern runs throughout the bedding set - I love the fact that evening if Harry turns his quilt upside down, once pulled up it will all love perfect (perhaps that's the OCD in me?). The aliens are cute - not those scary types who are likely to give your children nightmares thank goodness. They are 'cool' aliens by both Harry's standards and mine too!

I am sure that some of you may be thinking that 'bedding is bedding' but it's the little things that differentiate good bedding from bad bedding (can you tell I am a bedding snob?). I love the fact that this set of bedding has 'branded buttons' on it - they are strong and I am in no doubt that they will love though many rounds of tumble drying and even chewing from young children (please tell me that I am not the only mother with a son who likes to 'play with buttons and tags on bedding????)

As I have mentioned, this bedding has been a washed a number of times. There is nothing worse than getting some bedding, washing it a couple of times and it becoming mis-shaped or thin. This set improved with washing which means it gets a tick from me!

Summary

This Aliens bedding set has an RRP of £30 but is currently on offer for £20. I think that this offers good value for money. I love the design - it's funky, cool and contemporary. The 'blue' makes a change to the normal navy blue or baby blue which you often see on boys bedding. I love this set, as does Harry so it gets the thumbs up from me!

Disclaimer - I was sent this bedding set for the means of this review but all thoughts and opinions remain my own and are not influenced in any way.

  1. I love this bedding, it would fit in any boys (or girls!) bedroom, and I am very tempted to get a couple of sets for Jacob and Max - ready for when they share bunk beds!

  2. Thanks Kate - I think that this bedding is suitable for such a range of ages. It's the sort of 'classic' design that you can use with a toddler or an older child. My 7 year old loves it too!

I'm also a massive bedding snob - I can't abide cheap rough bedding! We spend so much time in bed it's worth investing in!
